Mark began consulting with Athena Intelligence Group to support a major client before joining the company full time in 2022. He has a broad and extensive background in IT with a focus on data center design and operations in addition to over two decades of experience as an Intelligence Analyst in the US Air Force. During his AF career, Mark enjoyed multiple assignments around the world, deploying for both Gulf Wars and multiple humanitarian assignments in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Central and South America.
Following transition to the Air Force Reserves after 14 years on active duty, Mark began his life in the civilian sector working as a software developer, which led to his developing a deep understanding of data centers. He eventually became the Data Center Manager for a major Intelligence Community Agency and was primarily responsible for the design and build out of several thousand square feet of data center space across 5 large facilities in three countries. Mark has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a MS in Systems Engineering from George Washington University.
